Pebble dash cleaning tips
Here are some tips on how to clean pebble dash without having to spend too much money or time.
- To start with, you should inspect the surface of your pebble dashing for cracks and damage. If you find your pebble dash is cracked or flaking you should have this repaired before washing. If water gets behind your pebble dashing it can cause more damage.
- If the surface of your pebble dash is free from damage, use a LOW pressure jet washer to remove surface dust and grime. Avoid using a high pressure jet washer at all costs! This will blast away the pebbles, spoiling the look and effectiveness of your pebble dashed walls.
- Next, use a pH Neutral detergent solution that’s specifically designed for outdoor surfaces. You can purchase a specialist render cleaning solution on Amazon*. Put some of the solution into a bucket and add warm water until it forms a lather. Use a soft brush to scrub away any dirt and debris from the pebble dash surface. Be sure not to use too much pressure as this might loosen the pebbles and damage the surface. If you cannot reach higher up your pebble dash walls, you can purchase an extendable long-handled brush from Amazon*.
- Once you have finished with the soft brush and cleaning solution, use a warm water LOW pressure rinse to remove any remaining cleaning solution, and leave to air dry.
NOTE: It is worth practising on a small out of the way patch of your pebble dash first to make sure it is not damaged by the cleaning process.
